Toshirō Kurosawa (黒澤 敏郎 Kurosawa Toshirō?); born 7 June 1985, is the current Prime Minister of Okaiken, in office since 2013.

A Sanese politician, he is currently the president of the Liberal Democratic Party and the chairman of the Sanese Simlympic Committee. Kurosawa is the __ Prime Minister of Okaiken. He was the youngest elected Prime Minister in History and the first prime minister to be born in the 1980s.

Kurosawa became Prime Minister following the suicide of his predecessor, Sasuke Gemba.

Early Life

Toshiro Kurosawa is a fourth generation politician. His father, Yasuhiro Kurosawa, was the mayor of Haru from 1989-1992. His maternal grandfather, Yoshitsuna Ohno, was the Federal Prime Minister from 1968-1977 and was the spearhead of the Okaiken Reform Movement, which was a major player in the Quiet Revolution of 1968. His Great Grandfather, Sho Konoe, also served as Prime Minister in the late 1800s.

Toshiro Kurosawa was born on June 7, 1985 at the Yokosuka City Hospital in Miyagi Prefecture, Okaiken. He was educated at the Yokosuka High School and Waseda University, where he studied architecture. Kurosawa served in the Compulsory Training Defence (CTD).

Kurosawa's first architectural project was to oversee the reconfiguration of Sentoku Park Green in 2007. He was later awarded to design the paths of Teijin Park before moving on to oversee the entire project.

In the general elections of December 2010, Kurosawa was elected as a member of the Lower House for the Miyagi 3rd district. He joined Tadagutsu Jobei's faction within the LDP.

Member of House of Commoners

Kurosawa gained his first senior post in February 2011 as the Vice Minister of Infrastructure, and his first ministerial post in June 2011 as Minister of Infrastructure under Prime Minister Tadagutsu Jobei.

As the Minister for Infrastructure, Kurosawa introduced bold changes, such as the proposal to build a new green on the former Teijin Industrial Park in Okashi, as well as the approval of the Toyoshi Bay Bridge, slated to be completed in 2016. He also proposed an added 2% environmental tax on toll roads. The bill was successfully passed on the House of Commoners.

On 24 April 2012, Kurosawa was elected vice president of the LDP. He was then appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister by Sasuke Gemba, the youngest assemblyman in Sanese History to hold the position. During his tenure, he pushed for new reforms on Economic Policy, privatize the Postal Service and reorganize the LDP structure.

Acting Prime Minister

On February 13, 2013, Prime Minister Gemba was found dead after committing suicide inside the Prime Minister's office. Kurosawa, who was at his residence in Muromachi, was contacted by the LDP to replace Gemba as the LDP Leader. Since Gemba's death was in the middle of the parliamentary sessions, Kurosawa was quickly appointed as the Acting Prime Minister on February 16. A Leadership Race for the LDP was then held on March 15, with Kurosawa winning the majority of votes over Sadakazu Tanigaki and Nobusuke Kadoyama.

Prime Minister of Okaiken

Kurosawa, elected at age 27, in 2013, was the youngest prime minister in Okaiken's history.

Domestic Policy

Economy

Kurosawa expresses a general commitment to fiscal reforms after the death of his predecessor due to the mishandling of the economy. He has taken steps toward balancing the Sanese Budget, such as appointing a tax expert, Koji Omi, as Minister of Finance. Omi has previously supported increases in the national consumption tax, although Kurosawa has distanced himself from this policy and seeks to achieve much of his budget balancing through spending cuts in the healthcare and military sector.

Kurosawa introduced conservative measures known as the 'Lightning Program' in July of 2013, which gave businesses a tax refund in exchange of employment opportunities towards young adults. Omi's Ministry of Finance also introduced programs that would make Okaiken more competitive by devaluing the En and by introducing new programs for companies that are entering the Sanese Economic Spectrum.

Education

Kurosawa supported the controversial Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform and the New History Textbook. He denies the abduction of comfort women by Sanese troops during the Great Adonian War, claiming that it has been created "out of false lies" claims that a history textbook must contribute to the formation of national consciousness, and cites the Kwangju criticism of the New History Textbook as foreign interference in Sanese domestic affairs.

In March 24, 2013, Kurosawa along with right-wing politicians have proposed a bill to encourage nationalism and a "love for one's country and hometown" among the Sanese youth (Specific wording from the revised 'fundamental law of education - 教育基本法', which was revised to include 'love of country' despite much criticism).

Much to the dismay of Kurosawa, the measure failed to pass in the House of Commoners.

Healthcare

On April 10, 2013, Kurosawa introduced a bill that will provide for free flu vaccinations for children under the age of 15.

Foreign Policy

On his first speech in the Diet, Kurosawa mentioned Foreign Policy as one of its most critical issues for Okaiken.

Bergenstein

Since its entry in the USNW, Kurosawa has taken a hard-line stance against Bergenstein, especially in regards to its traditionalist policy as well as its incompetent economic policies. He implemented several measures to help fix Bergenstein's financial woes, including the introduction of a single currency in the country and opening up free trade with its states, which would eventually contribute to growth.

With the civil war looming, the relations between the two nations quickly deteriorated, with the Sanese Mint ordered to print Bergenstein's currencies in an uncontrollable rate[1]. Kurosawa then announced that it will cut its relations with Bergenstein, and ordered non-permanent Bergen resident of Okaiken to leave. Consulate staff of Bergenstein were also kicked out from Okaiken, with only 8 hours given to vacate its office in Okashi. As of March 2014, the mandate to keep Bergen diplomats out of Okaiken are still in force despite recent reforms.
