The Democratic Republic of Kuyrut (commonly called Kuyrut) is a federal constitutional republic comprising of eight states. The country is the most western nation on Euphemia, where its seven contiguous states border Trentannian Dependency of Brennsland and the three nations of the Folland, Shayden and Skuuya't. The state of Kuykan is on the other side of Brennsland. The territory of Hyunic is the farthest western island claimed to be part of the continent. Along with Hyunic it claims a few other Territories around the Cilician Ocean. With over 88 million people, Kuyrut is the third largest country on Euphemia. The Kuyrutian economy is one of the world's largest national economies, with an estimated 2011 GDP of $3.7 trillion.

Indigenous peoples descended from forebears who migrated from Eastern Althenia have inhabited what is now the mainland Kuyrut for many thousands of years. This Native Kuyrutian population was greatly reduced by disease and warfare after Western Althenian contact. The Democratic Republic of Kuyrut was founded by a colony controlled by Insulo. On June 12, 1680, they proclaimed their independence from Insulo, landing them in a four year conflict known as the Kuyrutian Revolution. The current Kuyrutian Constitution was adopted May 8, 1685; its ratification the following year made the states part of a single republic with a stronger central government. The result of its independence has allowed the Kuyrutian people along with settlers to have internal conflicts until the Trentannian War of 1692 where the nation had been attacked by Trentannia, resulting in the loss of Nuaigo

Entomology

The word Kuyrut, has been derived from the native kuyrutian words of Kyur and utu, which translate to "Land" and "Closed In". When combined into one would translate into "The land in-between", which is due to the natives noticing Kuyrut's slender shape, calling it a land between two large bodies of water that stretched on either end for miles. It was an assumption before Insulo colonization that the state of Kurtilifa, was an island due to the many rivers and the narrow passageway that connects to Sansuno.

History

Pre-classical Kuyrut

Script error: No such module "further". First signs of Human life was around 60,000 and 50,000 BCE, when Paleolithic Peoples had crossed the Kuyrutian Chain during the final ice age. They found their passage blocked in an area near Situkan by a huge sheet of ice until a temporary recession in the Ice. As soon as the peoples had reached the mainland, they had spread out over the Euphemian continent. The remainder of those immigrants had settled down in small villages around 4500 BCE, in the Kurtilifa Wetlands. These residents would be known as the Tomec, which had been seen as the first human inhabitants of the New World. Around 520 CE, the Opake Civilization had began setting up its roots in areas of central plains of Tamoec. The Opake Civilization had survived around 200 years where it had collapsed to form the largest pre-insulo civilization within Kuyrut, the Kotan Civilization, which had lasted between 789 CE to 1482. As the Kotan Civilization fell, smaller civilizations had tried to grow out, but remained unsuccessful to gain a size of the Kotan Civilization. At the middle of the 17th century, explorers from Insulo had landed on the plains of Tamoec, and began colonizing the native peoples. Some of the native peoples had cooperated, but many had tried to fight back, but due to the many diseases carried by the explorers, much of the population had been wiped out or captured.

Colonization Period

The colonization period of Kuyrut began with the separation of the Kuyrutian land by the Insulonian colonizers into two separate states, one the larger Insulonian Kuyrut, and the smaller Insulonian Sayamo. The names of Kuyrut and Sayamo had been chosen by the colonizers from the common name of the area the natives spoke. During early colonization, many Kuyrutian natives had revolted leading to the Sandala Kuyr, a large crises that occurred in 1665, where Kuyurtian Natives had tried to revolt after the murder of Kuyrutian children near the outpost in Insulo. The aftermath of the conflict left much of the Native Kuyrutian population dead due to the infection from the Sandala virus and the Insulonian military superiority. Life under Insulonian rule in Kuyrut for most natives had been poor, as disease and rape was a very common occurrence in the nation. Only 5 years after colonization 60% of the Kuyrutian natives had been killed from just disease, the demographics had also grew in the amount of Insulonian-Kuyrutians also known as Kuyr peoples. The remainder of the time under Insulo was very sporadic in violence, where many of the Natives grew contempt or had died off.

Many secret alliances had formed with Kuyrutian rebels and Insulonian informants who were preparing for a revolt against the Insulo powers. One of the alliances, known as the Tetoka had been an alliance with members of Kuyrutian, Kuyr, and Insulonian people who had not wanted further Insulonian military oppression. The leader of Tetoka, Suyran Kur, was a well educated native kuyrutian, whos parents had originally sided with Insulonian powers due to their high status. Suyran had become unhappy of the oppression of the Kuyrutian peoples and joined the Tetoka, for which he had later became the leader in 1677. Plans of a revolt had became public started in 1679, where disappearances of Insulonian officers became very traceable, and lead to capture of members of Tetoka. This discovery lead to an attack on the Tetoka headquarters in San Fargo, resulting in the arrest of all members present during the meeting. Suyran, being away at the time had heard of the attack in late 1679, and had began asking more to joining him, along with their neighbor territory, Sayamo. Bells rang on the early morning of June 5, 1680, when a cannonball had shot through a Insulonian ship in Kurtilifa Bay. On the same day the Kuyrutian rebels had declared independence from the Insulonian state, resulting in the five year long conflict of the Kuyrutian revolution. The Kuyrutian revolution had lasted around five years where hundreds on both sides had died, the Insulonians, who had the military advantage could easily take on the Kuyrutian rebels for the first years of the war, but as it went on, it had become harder and harder to fight a war so far away from the Insulonian mainland. On May 8, 1685, the Kuyrutians and the Insulonians had signed a peace treaty freeing the states of Sayamo and Kuyrut. On the same day the treaty was signed, the constitution had been ratified and signed by the remaining leaders of the rebellion force, which had elected Suyran Kur as the president of Kuyrut.
